Chef's Kiss is run by Marvanova Ltd (company no. 17280852). We are responsible for your personal data, known as the data controller. Our ICO registration number is ZC117173.

What we collect
- Your name and email address when you create an account.
- The recipes you save, plus your collections, notes, meal plans and shopping lists.
- Your cooking history, passport progress, reviews and any recipes you submit.
- Photos you choose to upload: your profile picture, and photos for Pantry Mode, Dish Recognition and the Ingredient Scanner.
- Messages you send us through the feedback form.
- Your plan and subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe, never by us.
How we use it
- To run Chef's Kiss and keep the things you save in your account.
- To suggest recipes you are likely to enjoy.
- To power AI features, such as writing recipes, recognising dishes and reading cooking steps aloud.
- To track your streaks, challenges and passport stamps.
- To send account emails, such as your welcome email.
- To send the weekly recipe email, which you can switch off at any time in your Profile.
Keeping it safe
- Everything travels over secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
- Your saved recipes, notes, meal plans and shopping lists can only be read by you, and by us if we need to fix a problem.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- Photos you upload are stored with our hosting provider at an unlisted web address, so please avoid photos that show personal details.
- We never sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
- Base44, which hosts the app, stores its data, handles sign-in and sends our emails.
- Stripe, which takes subscription payments.
- AI model providers, including Anthropic, which process the text and photos you send to AI features. This happens through Base44.
- ElevenLabs, which turns cooking steps into speech for voice-guided cooking.
- Google, for Google Analytics website statistics, only if you say yes on our cookie banner.
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Your rights
- See and update your details at any time in your Profile.
- Switch off the weekly recipe email and meal reminders in your Profile.
- Delete your account and everything linked to it at any time from your Profile. This also cancels any Chef's Kiss subscription.
- Ask for a copy of your data by emailing apps@marvanova.com.
- If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and storage
- We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember settings, such as dark mode and whether you have seen the welcome tour.
- Our hosting platform records basic app usage, such as which pages are opened, so we can see which features people use.
- With your permission only, we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are useful and how people find us. It sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) that tell visits apart, and Google may process this data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. Nothing from Google Analytics loads unless you click "Yes, that is fine" on the cookie banner.
- You can change your cookie choice at any time with the button at the bottom of this page.
- We do not use advertising cookies.
- You can clear this storage in your browser settings at any time. You will be signed out.
